Hours Required by the State for NJ Broker License: 150 hours
This includes a 90-hour broker pre-licensing education course, a 30-hour Agency/Ethics course, and a 30-hour Office Management and related topics course. These real estate courses are essential for aspiring brokers.
Licensing Exam: The licensing exam for the NJ Broker License is administered by PSI. Please note that registration for the state licensing exam is a completely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam in the real estate courses. For instructions on how to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.
Note: All three broker pre-licensing education courses (150 hours total) must be completed within a two-year period. After finishing all three courses, applicants need to submit their completed school certificate along with a completed Experience Report For Broker Applicant form to the Education Qualification Section of the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. After a thorough review and approval, the applicant will receive a Certificate of Examination Eligibility, which can be used to reserve a spot for the Broker license examination. It is essential for the applicant to pass the broker license examination and apply for the issuance of a license as a broker or broker-salesperson no later than one year after the successful completion of the broker pre-licensing education requirements.
